About the Role

Our client is an entrepreneurial, owner-led business manufacturing a portfolio of fresh food brands and private label partnerships. With a rich history and a well-deserved reputation for innovation, quality of products, and unbelievable sustainability.

They have recently relaunched a number of their core brands with a new identity and feel, which will give them further consumer engagement and market presence. With a current £200m UK portfolio, they are poised for continued profitable growth, ensuring this role represents a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate.

In this market, this is a unique opportunity to join a high-energy, family-feel environment and play a major role in shaping its commercial success.

Role Description

We are seeking a Head of UK Sales to head up the UK sales team, owning the strategy and multi-channel approach to maximise all UK routes to market - Retail Multiples, Independents, Wholesale, Foodservice, and Private Label. With a strong team in place, exposure across different channels would be beneficial, but you will certainly have strong Retail Multiples and Independent retailer experience.

This is a hands-on role where success is driven by personal sales output alongside the leadership, motivation, and development of a small team. The successful candidate will lead from the front, spending a good proportion of their time with customers, alongside time with the SLT, refining and executing the strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering against ambitious revenue targets across multiple channels
  • Ownership of a number of the larger customers personally
  • Executing the go-to-market sales approach
  • Building senior-level relationships across target customers
  • Managing and developing a small sales team
  • Collaborating closely with marketing, operations, and the wider business

Key Experience and Attributes

  • Proven success in senior sales roles ideally selling branded food products into Grocery Multiples, Independents, and wholesale customers, ideally for a privately owned business
  • Track record of building outstanding relationships with customers that enables a closer working relationship
  • Extensive Joint Business Planning exposure with customer base
  • Strong individual contributor with a “lead from the front” mindset
  • Ability to build compelling commercial propositions and partnerships
  • Experience managing small sales teams and building on the already fantastic culture
