UK Head of Sales

The role:

We are looking for an experienced UK Head of Sales to lead our Bristol-based sales team and deliver strong, sustainable commercial performance across bookings, profit, margin, conversion, productivity, and customer experience.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will translate ITG’s commercial strategy into a clear UK branch sales plan, leading through your Sales Management Team to build a high-performing, accountable, and values-led sales culture.

This is a senior sales leadership role for someone who enjoys combining commercial grip, coaching-led leadership, clear decision-making, and continuous improvement to help people do their best work and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead UK branch sales performance across all segments, delivering against bookings, profit, margin, conversion, productivity, NPS, and responsible growth goals.
  • Own the annual UK branch sales strategy and operating plan, translating global commercial priorities into clear local targets, priorities, and actions.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales operating rhythm, including weekly trading reviews, forecasting, monthly performance reviews, leadership check-ins, and action tracking.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Sales Team Leaders as accountable leaders, strengthening coaching quality, performance management, succession planning, and team capability.
  • Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain strong sales talent, creating clear expectations and the right support for new team members to build confidence and performance quickly.
  • Use data and insight to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, making timely decisions and communicating performance clearly through weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting to the CCO, Executive Board, and Corporate Board.
  • Embed consistent sales processes, CRM discipline, pricing, and margin frameworks, global tools, training, and best practice across the branch.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, POD, Finance, Impact, and Operations to align sales activity with demand, product priorities, operational planning, and customer experience.
  • Own UK trade strategy and channel performance where relevant, ensuring direct, trade, and partner activity is joined up and commercially effective.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
