Alchemy is working with a large global organisation specialising in global HR, immigration and international mobility services to support their search for a Senior UK Immigration Manager / UK Immigration Manager.

This is a highly client-facing role where you will manage a portfolio of clients, lead and develop a team, and help businesses and their employees navigate UK immigration regulations. You will work closely with HR and Global Mobility teams, providing expert visa and immigration advice tailored to their business needs.

Alongside managing immigration casework, you will contribute to client onboarding, business development and the continued improvement of the UK immigration service.

The role has a hybrid working structure: 2 days per week in the London office, and 3 days remotely from home.

Key responsibilities

Client relationships and account management

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of clients, building strong relationships with HR teams, Global Mobility professionals and applicants.
  • Act as a trusted adviser and primary point of contact, providing clear, practical guidance throughout the immigration process.
  • Lead the onboarding of new accounts, establishing service requirements, gathering documentation and maintaining account service briefs.
  • Lead client meetings, quarterly reviews and process updates, providing accurate account reports within agreed deadlines.
  • Track visa and permit renewals, cancellations and key milestones to support proactive compliance management.

Immigration casework and service delivery

  • Oversee and manage a varied UK immigration caseload, including Skilled Worker, Global Business Mobility, entry clearance, leave to remain, indefinite leave to remain and citizenship/naturalisation applications.
  • Ensure cases are delivered accurately and in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide timely updates and reminders to applicants, HR contacts and Global Mobility teams.
  • Manage escalations and identify solutions.
  • Maintain accurate case records, applicant databases and supporting documentation.
  • Keep processes, guidance materials, forms and questionnaires up to date.
  • Review and approve supplier invoices relating to your case portfolio.

Team leadership and development

  • Manage direct reports, providing guidance, mentoring and support to maintain high standards of service.
  • Support the Director of UK Immigration with the day-to-day management of the UK function.
  • Lead by example, encouraging collaboration, accountability and a proactive approach to client care.
  • Contribute to or lead regular team meetings and service reviews.
  • Identify recurring challenges, address their underlying causes and recommend improvements to processes and services.

Business development and industry engagement

  • Present immigration services to new and prospective clients.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, including speaking opportunities where appropriate.
  • Attend relevant government and industry events to keep ahead of immigration changes.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and develop the department’s service offering.

Essential requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience managing UK immigration casework, covering Skilled Worker, Global Business Mobility, leave to remain, entry clearance, indefinite leave to remain and citizenship/naturalisation.
  • IAA accreditation at Level 1 or above.
  • Experience in both corporate and general UK immigration within an IAA-regulated organisation or law firm.
  • Experience managing direct reports and client engagements.
  • Great legal research skills and the ability to translate complex requirements into clear, practical advice.
  • Strong attention to detail, accurate data management and effective organisational skills.
  • A consultative, proactive approach, with the ability to manage priorities and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Confidence to work independently and the collaborative mindset to support colleagues across a global organisation.
