THE COMPANY

Affordable Art Fair has transformed the art market with its inspiring and welcoming approach, bringing art under £10,000 to 13 cities around the world, including three fairs a year in London’s Battersea Park and Hampstead Heath. Each fair offers something unique, with over 100 leading national and international galleries showcasing thousands of contemporary artworks in all styles and mediums. With special installations and commissions, late nights, family hour and more, there’s something for every art lover to enjoy. The UK fairs welcome over 50,000 visitors per year and generate over £12 million in art sales for exhibiting galleries.

THE ROLE

Reporting into the UK Regional Managing Director, the Marketing Manager is an integral part of the UK team. Working closely with the UK Fair Director and Global Marketing Team, they will plan and implement a year-round integrated marketing and communications schedule with a focus on driving quality footfall to the UK fairs and delivering art sales for exhibiting galleries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

BRAND

  • Agree annual objectives and targets with the UK RMD and Fair Director
  • Using customer insight, establish clear brand positioning, messaging and audience priorities for the UK fairs
  • Adapt and activate the global marketing strategy and brand guidelines for the UK market
  • Develop the marketing campaign plans for the UK fairs
  • Work with the Communications Manager, PR agency and in-house teams to create content and brand stories that garner coverage year-round, as well as for fair campaigns
  • Work with the Design team to create creative assets and oversee marketing collateral
  • Monitor competitors and trends in the contemporary art market

PAID ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS

  • Brief and manage Media agency, briefing key messages, timelines and KPIs
  • Design and deliver online and offline advertising campaigns
  • Manage offline distribution campaign
  • Ensure campaigns are optimized in line with attendance and revenue objectives
  • Continuously test creative, messaging, audiences and landing pages
  • Manage budget allocation, media invoicing, invoice processing and budget tracking

TICKETING AND FRONT OF HOUSE

  • Develop and deliver ticketing and grassroots invitation strategy
  • Manage the ticketing agency and ticket shop setup
  • Manage ticket allocations for exhibitors and partners
  • Oversee onsite ticket sales and front-of-house duties
  • Establish relationships with VIP partners

BUDGETING AND REPORTING

  • Manage and monitor UK marketing budget
  • Provide accurate forecasts and support budget setting
  • Follow company-wide processes and use standardized templates for key documents
  • Lead post-fair marketing analysis and use results to improve future campaigns
  • Manage agency contracts and relationships

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Experience running multichannel marketing campaigns
  • Experience in briefing and managing external media agencies
  • Experience in managing large multichannel budgets
  • B2C marketing experience in visual arts and/or events
  • Experience managing event ticketing (desirable)
  • Experience managing PR, media or owned-channel campaigns
  • Experience with WordPress, Google Analytics, Active Campaign and social tools

DETAILS

  • Full time, 40 hours per week
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Private healthcare and pension contributions
  • Based in Oval, London with occasional home working
