UK Payroll SME / Project Lead – Benefits in Kind (BiK) Transformation

Remote - OUTSIDE IR35

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced UK Payroll Subject Matter Expert / Project Lead to lead a key Benefits in Kind (BiK) Transformation Project for our client.

This is a part-time contract position running from August 2026 through May 2027, ideal for a senior payroll consultant or transformation lead looking for a flexible, high-impact assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • BiK & P11D Transformation: Drive the end-to-end review and transition of Benefits in Kind processes (including P11D reporting and payrolling benefits) to ensure full compliance and optimal efficiency.
  • Process Design & Controls: Map out, design, and implement robust payroll transformation workflows, internal controls, and governance structures.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary expert lead, collaborating closely with Senior HR, Finance, Tax, and Reward stakeholders to align project milestones.
  • Employee Communications: Develop clear, engaging communication plans and resources to support employees and managers through the changes in benefit reporting.

  • Strong track record as a UK Payroll SME / Project Lead with deep subject matter expertise in Benefits in Kind (BiK) and P11Ds.
  • Proven hands-on experience delivering payroll transformation, process design, and internal controls.
  • Superior stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Clear expertise in employee-facing change management and communications.
