Life at Aon

Aon is a global firm with local values. We are committed to offering opportunities to colleagues from all backgrounds. We build close teams based on the same ethos, across the globe. We work as one, as Aon United.

At Aon, we follow the hybrid workstyle. This gives you the best of both worlds, working at least 50% of your time in the office but with the flexibility to do this however it suits you.

We believe this helps us build and retain these bonds and a togetherness to achieve our collective and personal goals through continuous development, whilst also providing a work-life balance which enhances wellbeing.

Our office spaces are modern and vibrant workspaces where teams can work and thrive off the social connections this provides.

This role will be based in our Sheffield office in the lively Ecclesall Road area of Sheffield with many shops, a gym, restaurants, and bars close by. Commuting is easy with great public transport links and parking available in the area.

The Sheffield team is a team of around 150 colleagues with many different roles including Project Teams, our unique pensions service centre, our core administration teams, and IT colleagues. We are not a huge team, and this gives us the ability to recognise achievements and connect with people on a personal level. This is the best of both worlds, the scale of opportunities working for a global firm provides, with a non-corporate feel where you can be rewarded for your career accomplishments.

The team is a hard-working diverse team with a strong but inclusive bond, with many social events and opportunities we would like you to be a part of.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
