Our client, a global commodity trading house, is seeking a UK Power Trader to trade UK/GB power markets with full P&L accountability.

Power Trader Responsibilities:

  • Manage positions across the UK power curve in response to fundamental, technical, and weather-driven signals
  • Identify pricing inefficiencies and distortions between markets, tenors, and products to generate P&L
  • Trade UK power across day-ahead, intraday, and futures markets (N2EX, ICE), with exposure to physical power dynamics
  • Analyse fundamental and market data for gas linkage, wind generation, interconnector flows, and National Grid balancing actions to generate trade ideas
  • Maintain strong relationships with brokers, market participants, and counterparties to support deal flow and market access

  • Minimum 5 years trading experience in a proprietary trading environment trading UK/GB power
  • Demonstrated, consistent P&L track record managing a power book
  • Comfort with both futures and options, ideally with cross-commodity (power/gas) exposure
