About Young Futures
Young Futures is a fast-growing nonprofit on a mission to help young people thrive in a tech-filled world. We fund and scale youth-focused charities and nonprofits through open-call funding challenges, storytelling, and community building. Over the next five years, we aim to support 500 charity and nonprofit leaders through our YF500 initiative, reach millions of youth and families, and shift the cultural conversation around adolescence in the digital age to a more optimistic and solutions-oriented place. Our brand is upbeat, vibrant, and youthful, designed to resonate with the adults who champion teens and preteens.
The Role
You’ll be building Young Futures’ UK presence from the ground up—adapting a proven model and working alongside a supportive, mission-driven team that takes the work seriously and ourselves a little less so. You’ll work closely with the Director to translate strategy into action. And where process doesn’t exist yet, you’ll be the one building it, with real latitude to shape how grantmaking and the Academy run in the UK. As a small, collaborative team, there will be opportunities to contribute across workstreams beyond what's outlined here for work in both the US and the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Grantmaking
- Own the end-to-end grant cycle: RFP development, application design, applicant outreach and engagement, review process, grant disbursement, and post-grant reporting
- Manage the review process and recommend finalists and award sizes to the Director for final award decisions
- Direct coordination with reviewers, legal, and accounting—proactively communicating progress and flagging issues before they become blockers
- Chair review committee operations: reviewer selection, scheduling, and serving as their primary point of contact
- Build and maintain application and grantee reporting forms in Airtable; own data integrity throughout
- Serve as the primary contact for the UK fiscal intermediary on day-to-day compliance, and ensure grant agreements and disbursements are processed swiftly, escalating anything strategic or contractual to the Director
Academy & YFI Community
- Deliver the best possible Academy experience for UK-based YFIs, including curriculum adaptation and faculty recruitment support (scheduling, logistics, supplier coordination)
- Support mentor recruitment and own the matching process, facilitating connections to YFIs
- Execute the Academy schedule including facilitation of both in-person and virtual programming such as Peer Circles and Office Hours
- Moderate and actively engage UK-based YFIs in Slack
- Manage the Google Workspace curriculum site for UK-based YFIs
- Own feedback and evaluation processes, including post-cycle surveys
- Produce YF Academy assets including but not limited to: Academy Playbook, presentation decks
- Coordinate with YF Studio on YFI storytelling

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
