UK Retail Investment Director

Overview

FHP Property Consultants is partnering with Joshua Robert Recruitment to appoint a UK Retail Investment Director, a senior and well connected professional with a mandate to build out FHP's investment and trading capability within the retail sector.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a genuinely senior, market facing position within one of the Midlands' most established and active commercial agencies, with the autonomy and backing to build a service from the ground up, win instructions directly and develop lasting relationships with funds and property companies.

Appointed as a Director from day one and reporting directly to the senior leadership team, the successful candidate will take ownership of FHP's growth across retail investment and trading. They will leverage FHP's existing platform of 26 shopping centres and retail assets nationwide, alongside new instructions in Warrington, Nuneaton and Blackburn, to establish FHP as a recognised and formally instructed adviser within the retail investment market.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants genuine ownership, commercial freedom and the ability to shape a service line rather than simply inherit an existing desk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead FHP's growth within the retail investment and trading advisory market
  • Identify and engage prospective investors, funds and property companies across the retail investment and trading space
  • Build and manage relationships across institutional and private capital to generate repeat instructions and referrals
  • Identify investment opportunities directly by understanding asset ownership, appraising opportunities and securing formal instructions
  • Oversee the delivery of advisory instructions across a range of retail asset classes, including shopping centres and retail parks
  • Work initially across FHP's established retail property portfolio while building out the investment and trading capability from day one
  • Develop and maintain an active pipeline of instructions and prospective client relationships, with a particular focus on large property companies acquiring shopping centres
  • Monitor market conditions and sector developments to identify emerging investment and trading opportunities
  • Represent FHP at industry events and forums to raise the company's profile and generate new business
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to align the investment service with FHP's wider strategic objectives
  • Provide regular reporting on pipeline, client activity and performance
  • Over time, build out a wider team through developing existing FHP talent and/or making external hires

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
