Sales Director – UK Grocery & Commercial Growth
Part-time / Fractional | 2 days per week
About Annabel Karmel
Annabel Karmel is one of the UK’s most trusted names in food for babies and children.
Karmel Foods Ltd is an established food business built around Annabel’s expertise in creating delicious, nutritious kids food. We’re now looking for an experienced, commercially minded Sales Director to join us for our next stage of growth.
This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who knows UK Grocery inside out – with the retailer relationships, commercial instinct, and entrepreneurial mindset to grow existing partnerships, open new doors, and help identify where the biggest opportunities lie.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the CEO and Brand & Marketing Director, you’ll take commercial ownership of our UK Grocery business, with a particular focus on our growing kids’ food portfolio.
- Lead key retailer relationships
- Drive existing accounts
- Secure new listings and distribution
- Ensure we are maximising sales and profitability
But the opportunity goes beyond Grocery. We’re looking for someone who can bring broader commercial thinking to the business – helping us identify and develop new routes to market, including opportunities within foodservice, as well as supporting the growth of our emerging baby & toddler tableware business through appropriate retail and distribution channels.
This isn’t a traditional corporate Sales Director role. We’re a small, entrepreneurial team, so you’ll need to be comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on account management – spotting the opportunity, opening the door, and then helping make it happen.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
