Surgical Equipment Specialist (SES) for Sophi Phaco Machine
We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Surgical Equipment Specialist (SES) dedicated to our Sophi Phaco machine to join our dynamic sales team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in promoting, demonstrating, and selling our cutting-edge Sophi Phaco machines to healthcare facilities. They will also promote a full range of related consumable and disposable products.
This position requires a deep understanding of cataract procedures and the operating room environment and a proven track record in medical equipment sales.
This role is based in the United Kingdom - depending on where the candidate resides, they will cover either the North or South UK region.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Successfully complete a formal training and certification program in Switzerland.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of our surgical equipment portfolio.
- Build strong relationships with key decision makers in healthcare facilities.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve sales targets.
- Educate customers on the features and benefits of the Sophi range of machines.
- Work with internal stakeholders to prepare quotations and offerings to customers.
- Facilitate an appropriate pricing strategy for multi-product offerings.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities from the wider Rayner portfolio.
- Facilitate and lead wetlabs, on-site demonstrations.
- Demonstrate the Sophi range in the O.R. during live surgery, programming the devices in response to surgeon preference.
- Onboard the O.R. team over a period of several months.
- Provide first-line technical support to HCPs, facilities, and colleagues.
- Provide post-market surveillance to support MDR.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, including customer interactions, sales calls, and pipeline management.
- Attend conferences and trade shows.
- Represent the company at local and international trade shows where needed.

What Experience & Skills You Will Need:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or marketing.
- Proven track record in surgical equipment sales.
- Proven track record in ophthalmology sales.
- Strong understanding of cataract surgery.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel and spend several weeks demonstrating the Sophi range in the O.R.
- Fluency in English.
- Clean driver's license and ability to cover a large territory.
