An exciting opportunity awaits you as UK Tax Manager

In our Finance, Strategy, Transformation department. The UK Tax Manager supports the Director of Tax and Internal Audit in all areas of UK taxation, including corporation tax and VAT, in order to deliver in all tax areas relevant to Eurostar entities.

This position will be offered on a 12-month fixed term contract basis and is based in our London Kings Cross office, with hybrid working (expectation you attend the office twice per week on average). We are seeking candidates who will be able to start late September / early October to ensure a handover can be completed.

We’re looking for someone to:

  • Partner with the Director of Tax & Internal Audit to provide tax advice on commercial decisions, business changes and restructuring projects.
  • Manage corporation tax, VAT and other tax compliance obligations across the UK.
  • Lead on tax enquiries and maintain effective relationships with external tax advisors, auditors and tax authorities.
  • Prepare and review tax information for statutory accounts, audits, budgets, forecasts and business planning activities.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business, ensuring proactive compliance.
  • Provide tax support for group reporting requirements, including transfer pricing, corporate interest restriction and country-by-country reporting.
  • Oversee tax payments, refunds and forecasting activities in partnership with Treasury.
  • Deliver ad hoc tax projects, including VAT, transfer pricing and other business initiatives.

You'll need...

  • An accounting or tax qualification (ACA, CTA, CIMA or equivalent), or significant relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience within an in-house tax function covering both direct and indirect taxes.
  • Strong technical knowledge of corporation tax, VAT and deferred tax accounting.
  • Experience managing tax compliance, reporting and advisory activities across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ability to interpret complex tax legislation and translate it into practical business guidance.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence working across finance and non-finance teams.
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to work both strategically and in the detail.
  • Knowledge of French, Belgian or Dutch tax regimes and/or French language skills would be a plus, but is not essential.
