UK Technical Sales Manager
Full-time | Permanent
Location: Our site is based in Batley, however you will be required to travel around the UK. The ideal candidate will be within 1 hour commuting distance of Batley, hybrid working is available

Founded in 1982, Heaton Green Dust Control Limited is a UK market leader in the design and manufacture of dust extraction systems and filtration equipment, generating an annual revenue of £4.7M. The company has built a strong reputation for providing high-quality, reliable solutions that support safe and efficient industrial environments. In addition to manufacturing, Heaton Green offers Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) inspections and servicing to help clients meet regulatory requirements. All work is completed in line with current legislation and follows HSE guidance HSG258, giving customers confidence in compliance and system performance.
The Role:
The UK Technical Sales Manager is a full-time role, responsible for driving sales of dust extraction systems and filtration equipment across the UK. Day to day activities include identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing existing accounts, and providing technical guidance to customers on system design and performance. The role involves preparing and presenting quotations and proposals, conducting site visits and surveys, and liaising with internal engineering and service teams to ensure solutions meet client needs and regulatory standards. The Technical Sales Manager will build long term relationships, respond to customer enquiries, provide after sales support, and contribute to sales forecasts and market analysis. Regular reporting on sales activities, market trends, and competitor insights will support strategic decision making within the business.

The Sales Team:
The UK Technical Sales Manager will work closely with the Director responsible for Technical & Sales. Managing a team of 2 Technical Estimators
About You
We are looking for somebody who is technically capable, commercially aware and confident dealing directly with customers. You may already be working as a Technical Sales Engineer, Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer or in an engineering role where you regularly deal with customers and would like to move further into technical sales. Being the right fit for our business is just as important as technical knowledge.

Essential Skills:
- Previous experience working with the dust control industry
- Experience interpreting technical drawings, specifications & customer requirements
- Previous experience within technical sales, applications engineering or a customer-facing engineering role
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to speak with customers at both technical and commercial levels
- The ability to understand a customer's problem and translate it into a practical technical solution
- Good commercial awareness, including an understanding of pricing, margins and profitable sales
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple enquiries and opportunities
- A proactive approach to following up opportunities rather than waiting for business to come to you
- The ability to build credible, long term customer relationships
- Full UK driver's license (with less than 6 points) and a willingness to visit customers when required
Desirable Skills:
- Proven Account Management abilities, including maintaining and growing existing customer relationships
- Capability in Technical Support, providing clear, practical guidance on system design, performance, and compliance
- Degree or Master's in engineering
- P601, P602, P604
- Knowledge of ISO9001
