Are you an automotive professional with a passion for vehicle performance, lubrication technology, and customer engagement? Do you enjoy sharing your technical knowledge and helping customers achieve the best results for their businesses?

We're looking for a Technical Lubricants Specialist to work closely with the LKQ Euro Car Parts Branch Network and workshop customers, promoting our premium lubricant range while providing expert technical support and training.

In this field-based role, you'll combine technical expertise with relationship management, helping workshops make informed lubricant choices, improve vehicle performance, and maximise customer satisfaction.

As a Technical Lubricants Specialist, you'll be the go-to expert for all aspects of automotive lubricants, supporting branch teams and workshop customers through education, problem-solving, and technical recommendations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert advice on lubricant selection, specification requirements, and application best practices across a wide range of vehicles.
  • Supporting workshops with lubricant-related technical queries and troubleshooting.
  • Working closely with the LKQ Euro Car Parts Branch Network to grow lubricant sales and increase customer adoption of our preferred lubricant brands.
  • Building strong relationships with garage owners, fleet operators, workshop managers, and technicians.
  • Promoting the benefits of premium lubricant products, including performance, engine protection, fuel efficiency, and extended service life.
  • Delivering technical training, product demonstrations, and educational workshops to both customers and branch colleagues.
  • Coaching branch sales teams to enhance their understanding of lubricant technologies, applications, and market opportunities.
  • Supporting customers in identifying the correct oil specifications and maintenance solutions for modern vehicle technologies.
  • Working alongside the Concept Sales Team to develop specialist workshop opportunities and strengthen customer loyalty.
  • Monitoring market trends, new technologies, competitor activity, and industry developments, providing valuable feedback to product management and key stakeholders.
  • Acting as a trusted technical ambassador for the business and its lubricant portfolio.

Skills and Experience

We're seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic automotive professional who can confidently combine technical expertise with commercial awareness.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience within the automotive aftermarket, workshop environment, lubricant industry, or technical support function.
  • Strong understanding of engine oils, transmission fluids, greases, coolants, and modern lubricant specifications.
  • Knowledge of OEM approvals, viscosity grades, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • A customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • The ability to deliver engaging technical training and product demonstrations.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to influence purchasing decisions through technical expertise.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to managing a field-based territory.
