About Us
Simmer is one of the UK’s fastest-growing consumer brands, built on a simple idea: healthy food should taste extraordinary.
Founded by brothers Simmy and Jhai with £10 of ingredients, we’ve grown into a profitable, bootstrapped £100M+ ARR business and the fastest-growing food business in Europe (FT1000), serving tens of thousands of customers across the UK.
But we still think we’re early.
Our ambition is to become the defining brand in healthy eating.
We’re fully founder-led, with no private equity or corporate layers. The founders still run the business, set the standard and stay deeply involved in the work. That means decisions happen quickly, ownership is real and the people who join us have the opportunity to materially shape what Simmer becomes.
We’ve grown by making healthy food people genuinely want to eat, building a powerful performance marketing engine and telling our story in a way that feels authentic.
Now we’re entering the next phase and creative will be one of the biggest drivers of where we go next.
The opportunity
We’re looking for a talented, ambitious Video Editor to join our creative team in London.
Your core job is simple: take ideas, footage and raw material and turn them into brilliant social content.
You’ll work across everything from organic social and founder content to campaigns and performance creative, creating work for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube that feels native to the platform and earns attention.
This is an editing-first role. We care about the first two seconds. The hook. The story. The cut that comes half a second too late. Where attention drops. Why something makes you stop scrolling - and why something else doesn’t.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You don’t need an impressive list of companies on your CV. You might be working for a brand, editing for creators, freelancing, creating your own content or largely self-taught.
If the work is exceptional, we want to see it.
What you’ll be doing
- Editing a high volume of social-first video across organic and paid channels
- Turning raw footage and ideas into sharp, engaging finished creative
- Creating net-new edits alongside new hooks, cuts and iterations of existing content
- Using pacing, sound, structure and storytelling to make people stop and keep watching
- Working across organic social, founder content, campaigns and performance creative
- Learning from how people respond to the work, from comments, watch time and retention to performance data and using that to make the next edit better
- Working closely with Content Producers, Creative Strategists and other editors
- Getting involved in filming and shoots as your capability develops
- Bringing references, ideas and observations from the content and culture you consume
- Taking direct feedback, iterating quickly and continually raising the standard of your work
You’ll be making work that goes live quickly, reaches large audiences and gives you constant opportunities to learn what makes great social creative.
What we’re looking for
- A strong portfolio that shows editing ability, taste and creative instinct
- A genuine understanding of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and social culture
- Strong instincts around hooks, storytelling, pacing and retention
- An eye for what feels current and culturally relevant without simply chasing trends
- Speed, efficiency and excellent attention to detail
- Strong working knowledge of professional editing software
- Curiosity about why content connects with people and what makes creative perform
- The organisation to manage multiple edits and deadlines without quality dropping
- Intelligence, ambition and the ability to learn quickly
- Low ego, high standards and a positive response to direct feedback

Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
Previous professional experience is useful, but it isn’t the deciding factor.
We care more about your work, your creative instinct, your pace and how quickly you can develop.
Where this can go
This is deliberately an editing-first role, but we don’t expect you to stay purely an editor.
As you develop, you’ll get more exposure to concepts, scripting, filming, shoots and production.
Our Content Producers own more of that process end-to-end - from ideation and scripting through to storyboarding, planning and running shoots, filming and editing.
Why Simmer?
Creative is one of the engines of Simmer. Your work won’t sit in a folder somewhere. It will go live, reach large audiences and directly shape how people experience the brand.
You’ll work across both organic content and performance creative, see how audiences respond to your work, get hands-on feedback and increasingly take on more ownership as your capability grows.
If you’re the person who watches an ad and thinks about how you’d recut the opening, notices when a TikTok loses you halfway through, or has a camera roll full of references because something about them just works - we want to see your portfolio.
