About the Opportunity
A Fortune 100 Company is looking for a Trade Lawyer with 2+ years of experience who is licensed in UK or EU for a 3-month engagement starting as soon as possible.
Role overview:
The candidate will provide legal support to Corporate Counsel and Senior Counsel on the Company's Global Trade Legal team. The work will involve a mix of legal research, drafting, regulatory monitoring, and document review across the following subject areas:
- EU and UK customs law, including tariff classification, customs valuation, rules of origin, and customs procedures
- EU and UK product compliance at import (including product safety legislation, marking/labelling, and import P&R requirements)
- The EU Customs Reform package (including the new Union Customs Code, EU Customs Data Hub, product compliance obligations, and accelerated measures)
- UK customs reform relating to low-value import measures and general customs modernization
- Trusted-trader frameworks (AEO/Trust and Check); Engagement with customs authorities

Day-to-day work:
- Researching and summarizing legislative and regulatory developments
- Drafting and reviewing internal guidance, compliance documents, and external correspondence with authorities
- Supporting the preparation of authority engagement materials (e.g. meeting briefs, written submissions, customs audit responses)
- Reviewing vendor compliance documentation and advising on deficiencies
- Assisting with risk assessments and compliance requirement documents for new regulatory measures
Candidate requirements:
- Qualified lawyer (England & Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, or an EU jurisdiction) with a current practicing certificate or equivalent
- 2–5+ years PQE in trade, customs, or regulatory law (in-house or private practice; at least 1 year in-house preferred)
- Experience in an e-commerce, supply-chain, or FMCG environment is desirable but not essential.

Key Details
- Location: Remote
- Schedule: Part-time
- Duration: 3 month engagement
- Compensation: $100 - $115 per hour
Required:
- Bar Licenses: United Kingdom (England and Wales), Europe - Any
- Candidates must be able to work part-time 20 hours/week.
- The work will be performed remotely.
- Company's preferred pricing model is hourly with a budget of $100 - $115 USD/hour.
- The work will be performed as the client's direct independent contractor/outside counsel.
- Invoices will be submitted through the Priori platform and are payable per the client’s standard payment terms (net 60 days).
