Proposal Manager / Writer
Security Requirements

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Proposal Manager / Writer to join our Bid & Proposal team, supporting strategic opportunities across DXC's UK and international business.
This is a hands-on role combining proposal management, content development and proposal writing. You will work closely with Sales, Solution Architects, Commercial teams, Delivery leaders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop compelling, compliant and customer-focused responses.
You will lead proposal activities where required, while also taking ownership of key proposal sections, executive summaries and customer-facing content. Success in the role requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, stakeholder management capability and the ability to turn complex technical solutions into persuasive customer value propositions.
What You'll Do
Proposal Planning & Management
- Support and manage proposal activities from opportunity qualification through to submission.
- Develop proposal schedules, action plans and delivery milestones.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of proposal deliverables.
- Manage risks, dependencies, reviews and governance activities throughout the proposal lifecycle.
- Ensure proposals comply with customer requirements and evaluation criteria.

Proposal Development & Writing
- Analyse RFP, ITT and RFx requirements to develop compliant response strategies.
- Write, edit and tailor proposal content to meet customer requirements.
- Develop executive summaries, win themes and key proposal messages.
- Translate technical and commercial information into clear, customer-focused responses.
- Work with SMEs to gather, refine and enhance proposal content.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy and a single proposal voice throughout all submission materials.
Quality & Compliance
- Conduct compliance reviews and quality assurance checks.
- Review proposal content for clarity, consistency, grammar and alignment with evaluation criteria.
- Support final production and submission activities.
- Maintain proposal templates, reusable content and knowledge repositories.
- Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in proposal management, bid writing, proposal writing or a related pursuit support role.
- Strong proposal writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Experience responding to RFPs, ITTs, RFIs and other procurement documents.
- Understanding of proposal governance, compliance and response management processes.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across technical, commercial and delivery teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work to challenging deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience within technology, outsourcing, managed services, consulting or professional services environments.
- Public Sector or Defence bid experience.
- APMP accreditation or equivalent proposal management experience.
- Experience developing executive summaries, win themes and customer-focused messaging.
