Ultrasonic Immersion Technician
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Ultrasonic Immersion Technician with proven ultrasonic experience and relevant qualifications to join our growing NDT team in Derby. This hands-on role involves carrying out precise ultrasonic inspections in a workshop environment, working to defined procedures, and supporting inspection reporting as part of a fast-paced and collaborative team.
About You
- Experience in working with ultrasonics and educated with either basic engineering and/or an NDT background.
- Confidence working with ultrasonic inspection techniques and enjoyment in applying knowledge in a workshop or laboratory environment.
- Strong team player who can work at pace and to timeframes.
- Pride in accurate, methodical work and motivation to grow career within a supportive and expanding business.
- Flexible attitude towards working hours.
Required Skills and Experience
- Hold Ultrasonic Qualifications (NAS410 or PCN)
- Basic Engineering experience and/or a background in Non-Destructive Testing
- Good understanding of mathematical formulae
- Experience working within a team
- Computer literate
- Flexible work attitude (Shifts & weekends required)

About the Opportunity
Due to successful growth of the business, we are now looking for an Ultrasonic Immersion Technician to join our thriving team based at Victory Park in Derby. The chosen candidate will be part of a well-established team and be expected to be able to work precisely to techniques and procedures to complete inspections and generate reports. You will receive training for the role to build on your existing knowledge and experience.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity where the role holder will be required to work shifts consisting of mornings (06:00-14:00), afternoons (14:00-22:00), and nights (22:00-06:00).
Key Activities
- Operation of Ultrasonic Immersion Systems to carry out scans of components
- Performing of system/process control checks
- Testing method/technique development
- 1000 Gate Inspections
- Test report generation
- Close customer liaison and relationship building
