An Exciting Opportunity at Tunbridge Wells Hospital
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Ultrasound Department at Tunbridge Wells Hospital. Our modern department comprises five dedicated scanning rooms within the main department, alongside additional scan rooms in Triage and the Early Pregnancy Unit.
We are a progressive organisation committed to delivering outstanding patient care and prioritising staff wellbeing. We are seeking two enthusiastic and highly motivated Obstetric and Gynaecology Sonographers who are passionate about women's healthcare and providing high-quality patient-centred care.
About the Role
As part of a specialised Women's Health Ultrasound service, you will undertake a varied caseload including gynaecology, obstetrics, cancer pathways and early pregnancy scanning. You will work closely with our Consultant Leads and have opportunities to support specialist clinics, including scanning alongside our Fetal Medicine Consultant.
This role offers excellent opportunities to further develop your clinical and organisational skills within a supportive and collaborative team. We actively support Continuing Professional Development, clinical governance activities, audit and service improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Undertake a varied caseload including gynaecology, obstetrics, cancer pathways and early pregnancy scanning.
- Work closely with Consultant Leads.
- Support specialist clinics, including scanning alongside the Fetal Medicine Consultant.
Requirements
Applications are welcome from both experienced sonographers and newly qualified practitioners, with structured support available to facilitate career development and progression.

Ultrasound Examinations
Our department performs a comprehensive range of ultrasound examinations, including:
- General gynaecology scans
- Rapid access gynaecology scans
- Dating scans
- Nuchal translucency (NT) scans
- Fetal anomaly scans
- Growth scans
- Multiple pregnancy scans
In addition, we have a dedicated Emergency Department Ultrasound Service, providing both Early Pregnancy Unit and emergency gynaecology scanning.
