Company Description
UTAC Group provides vehicle test, validation, and engineering services to customers in the automotive, transport, tyre, petrochemical, defence, and security industries. It is independent and impartial in everything it does.
It has a range of test facilities for components and full vehicles. These include varied indoor and outdoor test tracks and events facilities in the UK, France, Morocco, and Finland.
UTAC Millbrook offers five unique venues, with the capacity to run indoor events for between 30 and 700 delegates and outdoor space to accommodate up to 5,000. The Events team at UTAC Millbrook is responsible for the delivery of a wide range of experiential events, mainly working with agency clients for customers in the automotive industry and a small number of other clients. These events primarily comprise automotive product launches & associated training and exhibitions, with a significant proportion of these using our famous test tracks, either as a core element when dealing with automotive customers, or to enhance events for other industry sectors.
Job Description
While working at UTAC Millbrook you will discover a lot about your own working style and learn valuable interpersonal skills, as you adapt to life in a busy events department. As part of a small team, you will build strong internal relationships, not only with your immediate colleagues, but also with management and other departments within UTAC. You will find that there is a diverse range of skills and experience within the department, exposure to which will be beneficial when seeking employment after university. The placement will also allow you to develop your network within the events industry, as you interact with a wide range of suppliers and high-profile clients.
Supporting the Event Managers, the successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and execution of a range of B2B events. Duties will include client liaison, management of event staff, AV deployment, set design and build, Health & Safety, etc. As the placement progresses, they will take responsibility for running their own events, including management of the Aston Martin events, that take place in a dedicated venue: The Aston Martin Clubhouse.

Role & Responsibilities
- Assisting Event Managers from planning to delivery of all events at UTAC Millbrook
- Taking ownership and responsibility for managing Aston Martin events
- Selecting, briefing, and managing external suppliers
- Liaising with internal departments to ensure smooth running of events
- Assistance in undergraduate recruitment for the following year
- Completion of all administrative tasks relating to events
- Managing high-quality events that exceed customer expectations
- Act in accordance with the behaviours for UTAC staff at all times.
Qualifications
- Studying bachelor’s degree in Event Management or similar (projected 2:1 or above)
- GCSE English and Maths at grade 5 or above
Preferred Experience
- Working or volunteering at events
- Working within a hospitality environment

- Flexibility to work occasional long hours and some weekends where necessary
- All applicants will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have own transport as public transport is not available
- Willing to undergo a DBS check
