Please note, this placement is only open to undergraduate students that will be in their penultimate or final year of a relevant Chemistry-based degree for the academic year 2027-2028.

As part of our dynamic and collaborative AC team, you will work alongside other chemistry experts and science partners to provide innovative analytical solutions that help advance our clients’ programmes and bring new medicines to the market. During your 12-month placement, you will have the opportunity to learn and apply a wide range of modern analytical techniques (including HPLC, GC, SFC, NMR, Mass Spectrometry and a variety of Materials Solid State Analysis techniques) through various stages of pharmaceutical development.
You will also develop and validate new analytical methods for testing and characterising different materials. Whether it is polymorph screening, crystallisation optimisation, structural elucidation or analytical method development, you will use your knowledge and skills to contribute to exciting R&D projects and make an impact on human health.

Requirements
- Studying towards an undergraduate degree with a significant Chemistry component.
- Undertaking a chemistry-based degree that includes analytical chemistry modules and/or training in analytical techniques.
- Predicted 1st or 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent).
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Conscientious.
- Well organised and confident working independently.
