Build Something Bigger!
Are you a Construction Underwriter looking for greater ownership, stronger broker relationships and the opportunity to be part of a business that's investing heavily in its future?
We're looking for an experienced Underwriter to join a growing Construction team, managing an established portfolio of renewal business across a broad range of specialist construction risks. This is an opportunity to join a highly respected team with ambitious growth plans, working alongside experienced underwriters who are passionate about delivering exceptional service and long-term broker partnerships.
This isn't a role where you'll simply process renewals. You'll be empowered to make decisions, develop broker relationships, identify new opportunities and contribute ideas that help shape the future of the portfolio and wider construction proposition.
The Opportunity
Working within the Construction Renewals team, you'll manage an established portfolio of business covering a diverse range of construction trades, including:
- Building contractors
- Electrical contractors
- HVAC contractors
- Mechanical building services
- Building service engineers
- Interior fit-out and finishing trades
You'll underwrite across a varied product suite including:
- Public Liability
- Professional Indemnity
- Property
- Combined Construction Packages
- Additional Liability covers
The portfolio includes risks ranging from SME clients through to complex cases, with premium values typically between £2,500 and £100,000, alongside larger strategic accounts.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
