This is a hybrid role working 3 days in the office (City of London location) and 2 days working from home.
Role Purpose
This role is based within the Mortgages division, reporting to the Underwriting Manager. The Mortgage division is responsible for the Bank’s mortgage originations, lending and servicing of loans.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite residential mortgage applications
- Make lending decisions in line with Credit Risk Policy and individual mandate level
- See beyond the individual components of an application, and consider the broader customer outcome and need
- Manage new applications, incoming post and pre-submission referrals within set service standards
- Proactively manage an assigned pipeline of applications from receipt to completion
- Liaise with a pre-approved panel of Introducers to provide quick, accurate and reliable underwriting decisions

- Mortgage Underwriting experience
- Cemap qualified
- Ensures tasks are completed to a high standard
- Starts and completes tasks effectively
- Deals with tasks in good time
- Eye for accurate detail
