Avencia Partnership Opportunity

Avencia are partnered with a leading specialty insurer who are looking to recruit a Professional Indemnity Underwriter to join one of the market’s most established and highly regarded PI teams.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a predominantly lead portfolio with an exceptional track record of profitability. The team manages a broad international book across traditional professions, financial institutions, miscellaneous PI and selected construction business, supported by extensive historical data and a disciplined approach to risk selection.

The Role

You will manage both new and renewal business across the PI portfolio, with responsibility for assessing risks, negotiating terms and developing strong broker relationships.

The team operates a broad, non-siloed model, allowing underwriters to gain exposure across multiple PI segments rather than being restricted to one profession or type of business. New business development will be an important part of the role, so you will be encouraged to build your market profile and develop your own broker relationships.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
