Avencia are partnered with a well-established insurer who are looking to recruit an Underwriter in their Warranty & Indemnity team.

The team work across UK and European transactions, writing primary and excess business across a varied portfolio.

The team’s flat structure and busy portfolio offer plenty of deal exposure, with the opportunity to take ownership early and learn from experienced underwriters.

The Role

  • Review submissions, draft NBIs and underwrite new W&I risks.
  • Review due diligence reports, prepare underwriting questions and negotiate policy terms.
  • Build relationships with brokers and clients to generate new opportunities.
  • Use claims and portfolio data to improve pricing, coverage and risk selection.
  • Contribute to the team’s underwriting strategy across countries and sectors.

Skills & Experience

  • Ideally 2–4 years’ W&I market experience, with strong candidates earlier in their career also considered.
  • An underwriting or broking background.
  • Practical knowledge of W&I placement, including submissions and NBIs.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence managing a busy deal pipeline.
  • An interest in building broker relationships and taking on more responsibility.
