Underwriting Administrator – Casualty Treaty
Location: London | Hybrid
Team: Casualty Treaty Underwriting
The Role
We are seeking an Underwriting Administrator to join our Casualty Treaty team, providing high-quality administrative and operational support to underwriters. This role is a vital part of ensuring the underwriting function runs smoothly, accurately, and in line with internal processes and regulatory requirements.
This is a dedicated administration role, well suited to someone who enjoys structured, process-driven work, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to build a strong and stable career in insurance operations and underwriting support, rather than moving into an underwriting role itself.
Key Responsibilities
- Entering and maintaining risk and policy data accurately across underwriting systems
- Producing, maintaining, and updating underwriting files in line with guidelines and workflows
- Supporting underwriting teams by ensuring documentation and records are complete and up to date
- Monitoring and maintaining operational, compliance, and financial controls (e.g. SOX, Aged Debt reports)
- Assisting with income monitoring, contract signings, and chasing late payments where required
- Ensuring underwriting systems and established processes are consistently followed
- Providing a professional, responsive administrative service to multiple stakeholders

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
