Overview
We are looking to recruit an Underwriting Assistant to join our growing team in our Bournemouth office.
Our team is collaborative, supportive, and committed to delivering excellent service. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will have the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge, gain valuable industry experience, and play an integral role in supporting the underwriting process.

- Collaborative Partnership: Work closely with our Real Estate Underwriters to support the delivery of exceptional service to our Real Estate clients. You'll manage multiple priorities and deadlines while helping the team maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and service excellence.
- Underwriting Support: Assist Underwriters with a range of administrative and underwriting tasks, including carrying out necessary checks, updating internal systems, and issuing documentation for both new and renewal business. Accuracy and attention to detail will be essential to ensure compliance with delegated authority requirements.
- Risk Assessment & Quotation Support: Support the underwriting process by gathering information on client requirements, assisting with risk assessments, and preparing quotations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your technical underwriting knowledge and understanding of risk management principles.
- Policy Administration & Customer Service: Handle day-to-day queries, confirm coverage with insurers, process policy documentation, and follow up on outstanding information where required. You'll play an important role in ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
About You
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and keen to learn. The ideal candidate will demonstrate many of the following skills and attributes:
- Previous experience within the insurance sector would be advantageous; however, we also welcome applications from individuals with transferable skills from related industries who are looking to build a long-term career in insurance.
- A strong customer focus, with the ability to handle customer information appropriately and always strive to achieve the best possible outcome for our clients.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work to deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A proactive and results-oriented approach, demonstrating initiative and a willingness to support colleagues and contribute to team success.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, insurers, and clients.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to process information carefully and make informed decisions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and open to embracing digital and AI-enabled tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, to enhance productivity and ways of working.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
