About the Company
Our client is an established international insurance organisation seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join its Onshore Energy team.
About the Role
The role will provide timely administrative and technical support to underwriters, helping to ensure accurate policy administration, high-quality data and efficient service delivery. The successful candidate will support new business and renewals within agreed guidelines, respond to broker and partner enquiries and contribute to the achievement of wider business objectives. This is an opportunity to develop underwriting knowledge within a supportive and collaborative environment while gaining exposure to specialist energy risks.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and administrative support to the underwriting team.
- Assist with the administration of new business and renewals in line with agreed guidelines and service standards.
- Record and measure insurance risks accurately while meeting performance standards.
- Capture and maintain accurate underwriting data across internal systems.
- Support compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct research and prepare reports and supporting information for the underwriting team.
- Assist with the production of management information, statistics and business-planning reports.
- Respond to broker, partner and stakeholder enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the wider service team to maintain high service standards.
- Provide general administrative support to improve the efficiency of the underwriting process.

Qualifications
- Previous work experience, ideally within a corporate environment.
- Experience working with complex data.

- Confident use of Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables and basic formulas.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate data management.
