- Prepare underwriting files and risk information for review, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate and stored in line with agreed processes.
- Assist with policy issuance, endorsements, premium and exposure data, routine credit-control and administration queries.
- Maintain clear, timely communication with brokers and internal stakeholders, escalating technical questions or service issues appropriately.
- Support portfolio monitoring, management information and data-quality activity, helping the team make well-informed and timely decisions.
- Work with Underwriting Operations, Claims and other central functions to resolve queries and support a smooth client and broker experience.
- Liaise with the Exposure Management team to model and monitor Natural Catastrophe exposures.
- Develop technical knowledge of Onshore Construction methods, techniques and technologies.
- Help prepare materials for broker meetings, portfolio reviews and internal reporting, and contribute to follow-up actions.
- Form a detailed understanding of Onshore Construction insurance products and the team’s underwriting appetite.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
