Join our dynamic team as an Underwriting Associate and play an important role in supporting our Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) business. You'll contribute to the efficient processing of insurance contracts, maintain accurate documentation, and support the delivery of high-quality service to our corporate clients, brokers, and underwriting teams. About the Role
As an Underwriting Associate in our ART business, you will support the handling of non-standard insurance contracts and operational processes. Working closely with underwriters, underwriting analysts, brokers, and other stakeholders, you will help ensure the accurate and timely processing of contract documentation and maintain high standards of data quality and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the processing and administration of non-standard insurance contracts for corporate customers
- Prepare, review, and maintain policy and contract documentation according to established procedures
- Accurately enter and update underwriting data in relevant systems and databases
- Coordinate and follow up on documentation requests with underwriters, brokers, and clients
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of operational records and contract details
- Support the issuance, filing, and management of policy documentation
- Assist with routine reporting and data collection activities
- Respond to internal and external operational queries in a timely and professional manner
- Adhere to operational procedures, service standards, and compliance requirements
- Support team initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and customer service
About the Team
You'll be joining the Global Business Services team responsible for Underwriting Operations. The team supports our Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) business globally in the handling of non-standard insurance contracts for our corporate customers and their brokers. The team's work contributes to operational efficiency, data accuracy, service quality, and the overall effectiveness of the underwriting process.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Experience in policy administration or operations from the insurance field
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
These are additional nice-to-haves:
- Familiarity with contract documentation and data management processes
- Experience working with operational systems or databases
- Understanding of corporate insurance products and terminology

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
For Folkestone the annual base salary range for this position is between GBP 24,000 and GBP 36,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role
- the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience
In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits. Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.
