Underwriting Assurance | Global Markets

To provide first-line leadership for the delivery of underwriting regulatory returns, control oversight, staff training and stakeholder engagement. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for guiding Analysts and Interns, supporting high-quality delivery and helping the team provide effective assurance across underwriting activity. The role offers strong visibility across the business and the opportunity to develop your leadership skills while making a practical impact on controls, reporting quality and ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Reporting and Governance

  • Coordinate and oversee key underwriting regulatory returns, including ATIA, GAREAT, NNPP and other governance returns as required.
  • Work with Underwriting, Operations, Finance, Compliance, Tax, Data Analytics and other stakeholders to obtain inputs and resolve issues.
  • Maintain clear procedures, checklists and supporting evidence for key reporting activities.
  • Identify and escalate data quality issues, unclear ownership, missed dependencies or reporting risks.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, workload allocation and support for Analysts and Interns.
  • Review work and provide constructive feedback to improve accuracy, judgement and confidence.
  • Support onboarding, coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Promote cross-training and a supportive environment where issues are raised early and addressed constructively.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
