Underwriting Governance Executive - 12 month Fixed term Contract
Join our Aon Client Treaty (ACT) team as an Underwriting Governance Executive. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring compliance with delegated underwriting agreements, driving the timely implementation of additional controls, and enhancing governance by leveraging existing solutions. This is a hybrid position offering flexibility to work virtually and from our Chelmsford office.
Please note this is a 12 month fixed term Contract.

What the day will look like
Governance
- Key resource for both external and internal audits including coordination of pre-audit questionnaires, file lists, and audit findings.
- Support changes to all governance documentation including UWPD, Underwriting Guide, and Centralised Underwriting Governance Manual.
- Continuous improvement of ACT's governance and controls including implementation of audit findings.
- Ownership of peer review; identifying and implementing training needs.
- Manage Underwriting Governance dashboard and ensure all control reporting feeds into it.
- Ensure all control reports are managed and all necessary changes are implemented in a timely manner.

Process improvement
- Continuous improvement of our internal processes in line with ACT’s Target Operating Model and delegated authority agreement.
- Responsible for tracking improvements across ACT.
- Implementing service measures for ACT and ensuring these are met.
Technology and portfolio underwriting
- Support the implementation of technology tools that will automate some Underwriting governance, ensuring that those tools provide robust protection against underwriting authority breaches.
- Evolve our technology tools to further strengthen Underwriting governance.
- Use data to manage the portfolio’s areas of risk and seek to improve ACT’s performance on all fronts.
- Implement and oversee a change control process to ensure that our technology and our Underwriting authority are always aligned.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

- Underwriting background, ideally in Underwriting governance.
- Experience of managing control reports and using data to inform decisions.
- A track record of operating successfully in a regulated environment and with a good understanding of risk management, legal, and compliance issues.
