Underwriting Portfolio Analyst | High-Growth MGA | Bristol (Hybrid) | Full-Time | Up to £55k + Benefits

About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing specialty insurance business dedicated to bringing technical excellence, operational agility, and data-led decision-making to the insurance marketplace. Operating across claims, underwriting, operations, technology, and partner networks, they combine deep industry expertise with modern analytics to build sustainable, highly profitable specialty insurance programs.

As they continue to scale their multi-product portfolio and expand their distribution partnerships, they are looking for a commercially curious, data-driven Underwriting Portfolio Analyst to join their team.

This role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to directly influence underwriting decisions and portfolio strategy across a high-growth MGA platform.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Underwriting, this is a hands-on, high-impact analytical role designed for someone who takes total ownership of portfolio performance. You will act as the key analytical engine behind product and distribution partner performance—running and maintaining underwriting models, evaluating claims experience, and uncovering emerging trends, risks, and commercial opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
