Pro Insurance is recruiting for Underwriting Support Assistants to join our growing team. This role will be working on a hybrid approach, with time split between home and in our London Office 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

This role will provide support to the Underwriting Support Managers and the Underwriting teams on a day to day basis. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Submission clearance for new risks
  • Supporting new brokers through the accreditation process
  • Preparation of quote, certificate and policy documentation
  • Managing and following up of any audit requirements
  • Managing the instructions of new surveys and subsequent requirement monitoring
  • Supporting new coverholders through the approval process
  • Coverholder Bordereau chasing and management
  • Ability to understand individual (re)insurance contract details such as notification requirements, security requirements, reinstatements, cancellation notices, etc. in order to provide reporting and management oversight.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of security requirements (LOCs (Letters of Credit) and Funds withheld) in support of the underwriting business.
  • Understand underwriting support processes and systems and extract / manipulate submission related data from broker portals. Act as treaty statement liaison and monitor dual signature requirements
  • Ensure all risk recording instructions are quality checked adopting ‘Right First Time’ prior to issuance to the offshore team and quality measures are reported and acted upon.
  • Identification and transition of tasks from onshore to offshore teams
  • Building and maintain excellent working relationships with the underwriting team ensuring that underwriting management are regularly communicated with and kept updated on appropriate operational issues.
  • Team Workflows - Monitor the various workflow tools and ensure tasks are completed within appropriate timeframes.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience of relevant (re)insurance industry experience, ideally within Underwriting Community
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to use discretion in working to resolve process issues that ensure the success of our established global outsourcing models
  • Possess a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to work flexibly in order to complete duties of the role, particularly during peak underwriting periods
  • Proven ability to prioritise and organise effectively
  • Proven ability to work with speed and accuracy, particularly under pressure
  • Experience supporting work allocation and working to SLAs/tight deadlines
  • Proven experience of building and maintaining good working relationships
