About the Role
At Markel, we're looking for an Underwriting Support Assistant to join our Construction Underwriting team in London. This role offers the chance to gain valuable experience within a global insurance business, working alongside experienced underwriters and developing an understanding of how the insurance industry operates.
No previous insurance experience is required. We're looking for motivated, detail-oriented individuals who are eager to learn and excited by the opportunity to build their career with a leading insurer.

You'll join a friendly, collaborative, and experienced Construction Underwriting team based in London. The team values curiosity, teamwork, and continuous learning. What You'll Be Doing
A major focus of this role will be supporting an exciting business project involving the migration of policy data across insurance systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Accurately transferring and validating policy information between internal systems
- Reviewing data and carrying out quality checks
- Supporting underwriters with a range of administrative activities
- Managing documentation and policy records
- Handling internal and external email enquiries
- Monitoring diary actions and following up outstanding items
- Supporting renewal administration activities
- Assisting with team and business projects as required
The role involves a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and will suit someone who enjoys organized, process-driven work.

Working Pattern
- London office location
- Hybrid working model
- Typically three days per week in the office
- Flexible working hours available, including 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm patterns
- Additional office attendance during the initial training period
