Underwriting Support Assistant – Professional & Management Risks

Leeds City Centre (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days home)

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

No insurance experience? No problem.

Are you organised, confident on the phone and looking for a genuine route into a professional career? This is a great entry point into specialist commercial insurance with a leading global insurer, where you’ll gain hands-on underwriting exposure and fully funded professional qualifications.

The Opportunity

My client is a well-established international specialist insurer with a modern office in Leeds city centre, close to the train station. They’re looking for an Underwriting Support Assistant to join their Professional & Management Risks (PMR) Renewals team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

You’ll join a friendly, collaborative team of 10, including Senior Underwriters, Underwriters and Assistant Underwriters. Together they manage a substantial multi-million-pound renewal portfolio covering Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers (D&O) and Cyber insurance.

You’ll be the front-line support for the underwriting team. You’ll keep in regular contact with brokers, chase renewals, manage workflows and help the team deliver outstanding service in a fast-paced environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
