Job Description
Leeds Beckett University are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced individual to join the UK Recruitment & Admissions Team in the role of Uni Connect Outreach Officer. This government-funded initiative aims to support young people from underrepresented backgrounds to explore and access higher education opportunities and is delivered regionally by Go Higher West Yorkshire (GHWY).
Role Overview
As an Outreach Officer, you will be employed by Leeds Beckett University and will work closely with one or more target schools or colleges in West Yorkshire. You will spend up to two days per week based in your assigned school/college, with the remaining time dedicated to wider Uni Connect activity, including representing Leeds Beckett within the partnership.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to build strong partnerships between learners, teachers, and the university.
- Bring your knowledge and experience of working within an outreach or education setting to develop and deliver effective activities to help meet project targets.
- Attend Go Higher West Yorkshire meetings as necessary as a representative of your institution.
- Support the work of the central Go Higher West Yorkshire Uni Connect team.

Requirements
- The role is extremely varied and requires applicants to work on a flexible basis, including occasional evenings and weekends as required and travel to locations across West Yorkshire.
- Undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check in line with our policies on safeguarding.

- FTE: 0.8 funded by the Uni Connect programme and 0.2 funded directly by Leeds Beckett University
- Duration: Fixed term post until July 2027
