Job Overview
Good inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, on a daily basis, at all levels i.e.: with members of staff i.e. Service stakeholders, BWPC staff, service end users, Trust nursing staff, local budget holders and suppliers
Answer the telephone; take messages and action as appropriate
A close working relationship with the Supply Chain Analyst, Materials Management Manager and Trust nursing staff to ensure a consistent and efficient service provision
Work closely and support where necessary the buying teams as required
A credible working relationship with Trust nursing staff in the Operational Directorates
Main Duties of the Job
Professional Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience within a customer facing role, such as retail or hospitality
- Educated to GSCE ‘O’ level/ONC standard and if not already achieved be prepared to study for the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply or other relevant Professional Qualification
- Microsoft Desktop packages e.g. word and excel
Problem-solving and Decision-making
- Resolve day to day uniform queries raised by wards, theatres or departments
- To ensure all goods ordered are on SAP, and all staff requesting new products do so via appropriate channels
- Understand demand patterns and feedback to the Linen Lead
Patient Care and Support
- No direct patient care is required in this role
Finance and Resource Management
- Placing requisitions on behalf of service users
- Approval of orders placed by team members on SAP
Leadership and Team Management
- Assist the Linen Lead and linen service with training of new staff and leading the team when required
- Help to promote the value of Linen Services the Trust
