Implementation Lead – Engineering Supervisor Role
At Tended
About the Role
Are you an Engineering Supervisor (ES) looking for your next challenge and open to something slightly different? We’re seeking Implementation Leads to support the implementation of safety technology into the rail industry.
At Tended, we develop first-of-a-kind safety systems leveraging advanced technologies to transform rail worker safety. Our ground-breaking geofencing solution has been named a TIME’s Best Invention and featured on the Digital Leaders 100 list for Geospatial Initiative of the Year.
We’re a venture-backed scale-up backed by an exceptional team, collaborating with rail industry leaders to pioneer innovations ensuring rail workers return home safely. The company is growing rapidly, and we’re hiring Implementation Leads to support technology deployments across client sites along the East Coast Route.
Key Responsibilities
As an Implementation Lead, you’ll act as the critical bridge between Tended and our clients, guiding their teams through the smooth adoption of our technology on-site.
- Lead on-site deployments in close collaboration with Tended’s project managers to ensure seamless execution.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with client teams—excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Develop deep product knowledge to coach users (with varied technical experience) through daily challenges, ensuring they operate independently.
- Monitor real-world usage on-site to identify value-added features and propose improvements for the development team.
- Require strong familiarity with the rail environment alongside Personal Track Safety (PTS) qualifications (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Be proactive, approachable, and a great culture fit.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
