Unisys Mainframe Consultant

Our client, a large global organisation, is seeking an experienced Unisys Mainframe Consultant to join a critical technology programme supporting enterprise-scale systems and infrastructure.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a complex and highly available environment, providing expertise across Unisys mainframe technologies while supporting ongoing operational, transformation, and modernisation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise across Unisys mainframe environments.
  • Support, maintain, and troubleshoot business-critical applications and infrastructure.
  • Analyse and resolve complex technical issues to ensure platform stability and performance.
  • Work closely with development, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.
  • Support system upgrades, migrations, enhancements, and transformation programmes.
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimisation.
  • Produce and maintain technical and operational documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Experience

  • Proven experience working with Unisys mainframe technologies.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise mainframe architecture, operations, and support.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical applications within large-scale environments.
  • Knowledge of Unisys platforms such as ClearPath MCP, OS 2200, AB Suite, LINC/EAE, DMSII, or related technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working within complex enterprise environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
