Job Description:
Shire Healthcare are recruiting for a Unit Lead Therapist to work in Peebles, Scottish Borders.
Role snapshot:
The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership and operational oversight for a specialist therapy unit, leading and supporting a team of therapists and trainee therapists while maintaining a personal caseload within the residential treatment programme.
You will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of patient care, supporting clinical governance, staff development, service improvement and positive outcomes for patients presenting with addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions.
Contract type – Permanent
Hours – Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with participation in a weekend rota. This is an on-site role.

Salary – £43,500–£47,000 dependant on experience and qualifications
Experience required:
- Professional accreditation with COSCA, BACP, UKCP, IC&RC or an equivalent recognised body.
- Significant experience working with addiction, substance misuse and dual diagnosis presentations.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including CBT.
- Sound understanding of 12 Step recovery principles and their practical application.
- Previous experience leading, supervising or managing a clinical team.
- Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continued professional development and clinical excellence.
