Unit Manager

About The Role

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Unit Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate care professional who is ready to take the next step in their career and play a key role in the leadership and day-to-day management of a designated unit. As a Unit Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring residents receive the highest standards of person-centred care while leading, supporting and developing the care team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of your designated unit, ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate and person-centred care.
  • Ensure residents' dignity, independence, choice and individual needs are respected and promoted at all times.
  • Lead and supervise the care team, providing guidance, support and mentorship to ensure excellent standards of care.
  • Take responsibility for residents' and employees' documentation, ensuring records are accurate, clear, timely and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of care practice across the unit and ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Administer and manage residents' medication in line with company policies, national standards and pharmaceutical guidelines.
  • Monitor residents' wellbeing and report any incidents, concerns or changes that may affect their health, safety or welfare.
  • Support the Home Manager and Deputy Manager with the effective running of the Home and deputise when required.
  • Assist with staff recruitment, rota planning and attendance monitoring to help maintain a strong and consistent team.
  • Identify training and development needs within the team and support colleagues to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure residents receive excellent support with their personal care needs, including bathing, toileting, dressing, hygiene and mealtimes.

About You

We are looking for someone who is experienced within a care environment and has a strong understanding of person-centred care. You will be confident in leading and motivating a team, organised and proactive, with the ability to manage responsibilities effectively. You should have knowledge of care planning, medication and regulatory requirements, alongside excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with residents, relatives and colleagues. Most importantly, you will be passionate about delivering high-quality care, promoting dignity and independence, and supporting colleagues to achieve their potential.
