As a member of the newly formed ELIP EMEA Operations Leadership Team, you will not only run your site, but actively shape common standards, KPIs and ways of working across our European manufacturing network. Each day, you will lead your teams to deliver safely, on time, in the right quality and at competitive cost. The work model for the role is: onsite, with the option of working from home in line with site-specific guidelines.

- Operational Excellence: Initiating and leading improvement programs and projects that increase efficiency and resource utilization; implementing and sharing best practices within the EMEA network. You lead by example in applying standardized processes and management systems consistently in daily operations, making them a living part of how the site works.

- Customer Delivery: Securing on-time delivery (SOTD/ROTD), lead time and fulfillment performance in close cooperation with Demand Planning, Customer Service and Logistics.
- Quality: Executing the business quality strategy, ensuring day-to-day process control and reducing scrap, cost of poor quality and customer complaints (CCRP) through structured problem solving.
- Working Capital: Managing inventory and material flow to improve inventory turns without compromising delivery performance.
- EMEA Collaboration: Implementing the global and EMEA manufacturing strategy at the site, contributing to strategy development, harmonizing processes, reporting and KPIs, and supporting footprint, localization, product portfolio and system harmonization initiatives.
- People Leadership: Leading, developing and coaching the site organization; ensuring the unit is properly organized, staffed and skilled; making recruitment and staffing decisions together with HR.
- Compliance and Representation: Ensuring compliance with the ABB Code of Conduct, integrity standards, laws, norms and regulations applicable to the site; representing the unit towards internal stakeholders, authorities and third parties.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
