Insight Global are seeking a Unity XR Engineer

Insight Global are seeking a Unity XR Engineer for a leading global technology company focused on next-generation AR/VR and wearable computing platforms.

This position requires hybrid working in London, UK for a 12-month initial contract (Inside IR35) with extension potential.

As a Unity XR Engineer, you will play a key role in bringing existing XR applications and games to cutting-edge wearable devices using OpenXR. Working closely with platform, perception, and engineering teams, you'll help validate and improve the developer experience by optimizing real-world Unity content for next-generation hardware. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full XR stack, from Unity rendering and UI adaptation through to performance optimization and OpenXR runtime integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Port existing Unity XR applications and experiences to wearable devices using OpenXR.
  • Adapt rendering, input systems, and user interfaces to support wearable and augmented reality experiences.
  • Transform traditional VR interfaces into spatial AR experiences using world-space and diegetic UI paradigms.
  • Identify and resolve platform integration challenges relating to OpenXR, input systems, rendering pipelines, and compositor behaviour.
  • Profile, diagnose, and optimize application performance across memory, frame rate, GPU, and power constraints.
  • Create technical documentation, best practices, and developer guidance for XR content on wearable platforms.
  • Collaborate with platform engineering, perception teams, and content developers to improve end-to-end user experiences.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
