This is a 12-month paid internship starting September 2027. The role is head office based requiring a minimum of 2 days a week to be worked from our office in Winnersh.
Introducing the Opportunity
The Commercial Quality team helps ensure that medicines and animal health products are managed and distributed in line with regulatory requirements and company standards. As a Commercial Quality Intern, you will gain practical experience of quality systems, compliance activities and operational data in a regulated pharmaceutical environment. You will support work that helps protect product quality and patient and animal safety, while contributing to efficient business operations. You will collaborate with colleagues across Supply Chain, Customer Service, Regulatory Affairs, Medical and Commercial teams, and build an understanding of how quality supports products throughout their lifecycle.
What You Will Do
- Maintain quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions and records.
- Review and track complaints, deviations and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Prepare quality reports and dashboards using Excel, Power BI and quality systems.
- Support audits, self-inspections and compliance monitoring activities.
- Maintain training records and monitor completion of required training.
- Support supplier and third-party quality activities.
- Support product launches, lifecycle changes, ongoing supply and batch release activities.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, Customer Service and Commercial teams.
- Analyse quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Gain experience of pharmaceutical quality systems and Good Distribution Practice (GDP).

Essential Requirements
- Currently studying for a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Quality Management or a related subject, and completing a placement year as part of the course.
- A minimum of three A levels at grades ABB, or equivalent, with at least one qualification in Mathematics or a science subject. Students without an applicable A level may still be considered.
- The right to work in the UK for the full duration of the internship.
- The ability to travel independently to the usual place of work and, where required, to other sites.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to organise work, maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and willing to learn new systems and digital tools.

Desirable Requirements
- Awareness of quality management systems, compliance requirements or continuous improvement approaches.
- An understanding of pharmaceutical regulations such as Good Distribution Practice, Good Manufacturing Practice or ISO-based quality systems.
- An interest in process improvement, risk-based thinking and using data to support decisions.
- An interest in digital transformation projects
