This is a 12-month paid internship starting September 2027. The role is head office based requiring a minimum of 2 days a week to be worked from our office in Winnersh.
Introducing the Opportunity
Join Clinical Development Operations for a 12-month internship split equally between Trial Patient & Site Engagement and Feasibility & Planning. You will help bring patient, caregiver and trial-site perspectives into the way clinical trials are designed and planned, while learning how data and local knowledge are used to assess whether a study can be delivered successfully. Working with colleagues across the UK and global teams, you will support meaningful projects, analyse and organise information, and help turn insights into clear recommendations. This is an opportunity to see how different functions work together to make trials more practical for participants and sites and to help medicines reach patients sooner.
What You Will Do
- Spend approximately 50% of your time supporting Trial Patient & Site Engagement and 50% supporting Feasibility & Planning, with a clear placement plan across both teams.
- Support the collection, organisation and analysis of patient, caregiver and site insights to inform trial design, recruitment, retention and the overall trial experience.
- Help develop and maintain Trial Patient & Site Engagement plans, trackers, presentations, guidance and learning materials, and support selected engagement projects.
- Contribute to feasibility activities by reviewing data and country or site feedback, summarising key risks and opportunities, and supporting clear, evidence-based recommendations.
- Support work to connect patient and site insights with feasibility processes, including questionnaires, feedback loops and continuous-improvement activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues across trial, country, medical, data and operational teams, and communicate progress and findings clearly to different audiences.
- Use Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint and approved data or survey systems to organise information, track actions and create high-quality outputs.
- Take ownership of agreed projects and contribute practical ideas that improve how insights are captured, shared and used in clinical trial planning.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
