University Partnerships Manager
Sheffield City Centre (office-based and hybrid) — Salary: Up to £40,000
About the Role
We’re expanding our Partnerships team at UniHomes, and this University Partnerships Manager role is vital to our growth.
As University Partnerships Manager, you’ll lead the development of relationships with universities across the UK, focusing on:
- Engaging target institutions in key cities
- Building long-term partnerships that enhance the student accommodation experience and drive commercial value
- Co-creating and executing a strategic partnership roadmap while scaling this function
Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, you’ll own the end-to-end partnership lifecycle—from initial outreach to securing commercial wins. This brand-new role offers an exceptional opportunity to build a function from scratch, shaping its direction and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Development
- Identify and engage priority universities across the UK, developing a strong opportunity pipeline
- Craft compelling partnership propositions aligned with student accommodation, wellbeing, and revenue opportunities
- Support negotiations, helping convert partnerships into long-term relationships
University Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong ties with university stakeholders (accommodation, commercial teams, recruiters)
- Represent UniHomes at campus visits, conferences, and industry forums to boost credibility
- Manage end-to-end partner relationships, from initial contact to ongoing development
Growth & Impact
- Secure partnerships that grow UniHomes’ reputation, visibility, and sector reach
- Drive demand generation through partner referrals and co-marketing efforts
- Identify and develop revenue-generating partnership opportunities
Insight & Collaboration
- Gather market insights on student behaviour, accommodation trends, and university priorities
- Share feedback with internal teams (Marketing, Sales, Product) to refine strategies
- Ensure partnership efforts align with commercial and brand goals

Building the Function
- Shape new processes, ways of working, and best practices for the partnerships team
- Collaborate with the Head of Partnerships to evolve this critical area

- A clear pipeline of realistic short-, medium-, and long-term partnership goals
- A targeted, results-driven approach with measurable growth outcomes
- Increased UniHomes’ visibility and credibility in higher education
- Secured partnerships delivering tangible commercial and reputational benefits
- Contribution to long-term revenue streams and demand generation
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in higher education (working with/for universities) and knowledge of the student journey
- 5+ years’ experience in partnerships, business development, or commercial roles
- Proven ability to build and grow external relationships
- Experience engaging senior stakeholders and influencing decisions
- Strong negotiation skills with a commercial mindset
- Confidence working in a new or evolving function with minimal structure
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Data-driven decision-making
Desirable
- Experience in a high-growth or PE-backed business
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
