Portland School Teacher Opportunity
Portland School has an opening for an unqualified teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality vocational learning. Some of the lessons may be around construction and motor vehicle maintenance for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will use practical, hands-on learning experiences to develop pupils' technical skills, confidence, resilience, employability and aspirations within a supportive and therapeutic educational environment.
Role Overview
- Approximately 50% teaching time
- Remaining time dedicated to:
- Curriculum development
- Workshop management
- Assessment
- Intervention programmes
- Pastoral support
- Employer engagement
- Enrichment activities
- Contributing to the wider life of the school
About Portland School
- Dedicated to providing exceptional learning and experiences to pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMHD).
- Mission: Empower young minds and nurture futures.
- Split site school with two provisions to meet different needs, one at Trent Vale and one at Blythe Bridge.
- Amazing staff team supporting approximately 140 pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
