Freelance Unreal Engine Artist/Designer - Live Performance

Contract: Freelance/Project-based

Sector: Live Entertainment/Performance/Large-scale events

Location: London/Remote + on-site work for the event

We are working with a leading creative studio looking for an exceptional Unreal Engine Artist/Designer to join the team on an upcoming large-scale live performance project.

The project involves creating ambitious visual content for a large-scale live environment, so we're looking for someone who combines serious Unreal Engine capability with an exceptional visual eye, and high quality, event-ready visuals.

Experience creating content for concerts, touring, music, broadcast performance or live entertainment would be ideal, although we're open to Unreal artists from other creative backgrounds if the quality of the work is outstanding.

The Role

Working alongside the studio's Creative Directors and wider content team, you'll help develop and deliver the visual world for the performance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Knowledge of Cinema 4D and After Effects would also be useful, particularly if you're comfortable dipping between packages as part of the wider content workflow.

The Team

Just as importantly, we're looking for someone who's friendly, collaborative and hardworking. As the project moves towards delivery there may be long days and periods working closely together on site, so you'll need to be a genuine team player, someone who communicates well, stays positive under pressure and is happy to muck in when required.

Interested?

Please apply and share your portfolio or reel, including examples of your most recent Unreal Engine work.

If you've got strong performance-specific Unreal work, we'd particularly like to see it.
