Role Description
The Upholsterer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Preston. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Upholstering bespoke sofas and other furniture pieces
- Preparing and fitting covers, padding, and fillings
- Ensuring all items meet quality and design specifications
- Working with frames and seating structures
- Cutting and sewing fabrics
- Handling materials and tools safely
- Following job sheets and design instructions

- Collaborating with the workshop team
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
- Meeting production schedules while upholding high standards of craftsmanship
Schedule
- 4 days a week
- 10 hours per day
- 6.45am - 4.45pm
Pay
- £40,698 per month
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in upholstery for bespoke or custom furniture pieces
- Experience working with seating and furniture structures, including frames and cushions
- Knowledge of tapestry or decorative fabric application for high-quality finishes
- Proficient sewing skills, including cutting, stitching, and fitting upholstery fabrics
- Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and ability to follow technical drawings or job sheets
- Ability to use hand tools and machinery safely and effectively in a workshop environment
- Good physical dexterity and stamina for lifting, stretching fabrics, and working with larger furniture items
- Previous experience in upholstery or furniture manufacturing; relevant vocational training or apprenticeship is an advantage
